45 ολόκληρα χρόνια μετά την ιστορική εμφάνιση των Pink Floyd στην Πομπηία, ο David Gilmour θα επιστρέψει στην ιταλική πόλη για δυο συναυλίες. Ο υπεύθυνος πολιτιστικών εκδηλώσεων του Δήμου Πομπηίας, Dario Franceschini ανακοίνωσε τις δύο συναυλίες του Gilmour (7 κι 8 Ιουλίου) στο αμφιθέατρο της πόλης, δίνοντας έτσι μεγαλύτερη έμφαση στο γεγονός! Ο χρυσόδετος κι ασήκωτος τόμος της ιστορίας του rock μας θυμίζει οι Pink Floyd είχαν παίξει τον Οκτώβριο του 1971 στην Πομπηία, χωρίς ακροατήριο, όπου η εμφάνισή τους κινηματογραφήθηκε και κυκλοφόρησε σε μικρό κύκλο κινηματογράφων με τίτλο «Live at Pompei» και τα κομμάτια “Echoes,” “One of These Days” και “Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun” να είναι τα highlights της ταινίας.
